Same has happened to me the past 2 weeks...I reported them to scamwatch, took 5 minutes...do it guys, they need to be stopped!

I too have been bombarded with calls from them - Animal Welfare League - I have helped twice so they ring every week - I know have the number coded in my phone as DO Not Answer !!!
They do not give up. I know they need funds but harassing people that have already helped won't win them any favours

Missed a call at work today on my mobile, thought it was important. How did they get my mobile?

Absolutely sick of all the calls, the day I got my new number I started getting calls, not just from this number but from ones wanting to sell life insurance and land packages. I want to know how the hell they got my number when I only JUST activated the number half an hour earlier before the first call. Next time they call I will answer and I won't be nice. I love animals, I myself volunteer at an animal shelter and foster puppies and kittens that have no mothers. But harnessing people is NOT the way to go about raising funds

They're at it again! I love animals, but I give to these charities when I want to, not when they harass me constantly. I also prefer to give my money to the many NO KILL animal rescue places that are now everywhere and doing it tough.
I thought it was suss as I have an answering machine and over the past month I have been getting calls up to 3 times a day, that don't leave a message just hang up, which usually means telemarketer.
My cat turned off the answering machine last night (he likes playing with it!) and the phone rang at 9am, so I finally got the number. (I didn't answer)

Yes these people call just about every day and have been doing so for about the past month. You'd think they'd have go the hint by now? It's to do with Animal Welfare and I love animals to death but this harrassment is not good even though I feel terrible for the animals by ignoring it.

I don't think it's the animal welfare league directly I think it's a company that call around for people to sell raffle books for charities as I always get phoenix society as I have sold books for them before so now they ring me all the time. Sometimes it's everyday for 2 weeks around 6.30pm. If it starts with 8818 I don't answer... I've blocked some of them but they have so many different lines to call from!!

They keep ringing my mobile leaving no message -extremely annoying. I told them last year to take my number off their list but it has begun again...

Keep getting this number as a missed call now I know who it is I won't be trying to call back

We also get many calls from this number but when we see it comes up with 1212 on the end we ignore it.
I have heard that no one is actually on the end of the phone when you pick up the call and that is because it comes from an Indian call centre who get commission from just dialling your number. Very frustrating

I hate animals so what makes them think I'll donate money, they are in for a rude shock

Same as above. I answered them once. Told them not to call again, which stopped them for about a month. I even asked how they got my mobile number. They said White Pages, which was a lie, it costs to put your mobile in the phone book, Ive never done it and this number was never used before me. Im just wondering how many donations they'll get if they have their phones disconnect ed for using it in a harrassing manner

it was the Animal Welfare League, wanting to sell me raffle tickets.i said them to ring julia gillard.she may help u.because i am busy working to pay her tax.

They are calling me too. Very annoying.

it is the animal welfare league fund raising raffle... it is a good cause and they are in desperate need of funds. a few dollars a month can help save quite a few of our abandoned 2 or four legged friends.

So annoying!! I have told them I'm not interested (sold one book once.. never again) and to please remove me from the list. They have called me 8 times in the past month and I have been overseas. I think they must employ an external company to do their outbound calling. I'm going to ring the actual charity and complain.

I answered about 3 months ago and told them that I wasn't interested. Since then, they have called me at least 12 times over 2 months. They are total pains in the arse.

Yes, I too have asked the Animal Welfare League to remove my name several times. They politely tell me they will, but they never do. What a disreputable charity
