I think charities are exempt from the do not call register. A shame because these people are bloody pests. I gave these people some money a few years ago (a fair amount!!) and they have hounded me mercilessly ever since. Never ever again.

I have just received a call from Barry selling lottery tickets from Kidney Australia. My number is registered on the Do Not Call Register.

I asked where they got my phone number and he said a company called Axiom.

I suggest to you to go onto the website and email the Managing Director. As this is a public company this info has to be listed. I did this and I got emails from both the managing director and Public relations officer saying my number would be removed from their call this, especially since I mentioned that I was on the do not call register. If I get any calls from numbers soliciting funds or selling stuff, I find out who the company/ organisation they are representing and email the company. Give it a try. Maybe we should all send the companies/organisations harassing emails and phone they all the time and see how they like it.

Constantly harrassed by missed calls on mobile, day in and day out, blocked number today. I even rang their office in Adelaide to make a complaint and the receptionist just hung up on me twice, pff professional NOT!, this harrassment is insane. I even emailed the office to have my number removed from their list and sure enough had another missed call from them after this on the same day. Disgusting and unfortunately ex work colleagues and ex friends of mine work there so maybe it's their way of a joke, hmmn now who is wasting Kidney Health's money now? ha ha ha!

I understand Charities need to raise funds somehow but I do think that the do not call register should apply to Charities as well. The ones who have called me from other places do get quite rude if you say no to the point I hang up on them as I will not tolerate rudeness when they're the ones calling at dinner time etc.

Easiest way to get them to stop calling is to just say i am not interested.. When they try to convince you to change your mind just repeat.. I am not interested, I will not be interested tomorrow and if i ever decide to be interested I will contact the charity directly so please do not call me again or I will report that (whatever their name is) was pestering me.

Have just found this web site - very useful. Was also getting 3 or 4 calls a day from these annoying parasites. Never leave a message, just hang up. Did a search and found it is KIDNEY HEALTH. Finally grabbed the phone in time for some woman to ask "how are you today?"........and you want to know....why....?.selling something or other for this charity. Told her she was very annoying and I do not give money to people who ring me.

Like you David I keep getting calls from this lot despite the fact I am on the Do Not Call Register and my number is a silent number - a fat lot of good either of these things have done. These annoying calls never seem to stop.

Suggest many send an email to Malcolm Turnball which I have just done. He is one politician that is very likely to do something about it.

I just had one of these calls. Let it go to the answering machine which has caller id.
If the spammer starts to talk record it and put it on Youtube. Also contact the TV news current affair shows as they love stories like this. They will use their reporters to go after these crooks.

Rule number ONE do not answer the phone yourself unless you are familiar with the number displayed on your phone screen. SECOND block any estrange number and THIRD have your answering machine ready for those private callers.

Claim to be a charity but more interested in obtaining your credit card details and selling overpriced merchandise. So called charities that are just a front for telemarketers should be prosecuted.
