Strathpine Gold Star autos are liars. made every attempted to take advantage of me by selling me a car at least $1000 more than it's worth. Ignored my point about my realisation they're basically scam artists, instead making fun of the car I bought for literally $2000 less than the car he was trying to sell me (02 Barina 144k's for $3500 vs 02 Lanos for $1500 141k's) - carried on about it being Korean without understanding Daewoo was bought out by GM in 1999 so pretty ironic that he's comparing basically the same car - Daewoo and Toyota are both owned by GM. Deadset moron. and the price he was charging I could buy a second car for the same price with change left over anyway. Below are links and info that prove my point.

mob of wankers at this joint, I wouldn't give this mob of lying predator scum a cent if I were you, and I can just about say with certainty you would get ripped off if you tried to sell your car to these sharks.

bloke tried to offer me a Barina 02 (manual) for $3500 and claimed the RRP was $5000 (!!!) like he was doing me a favour by reducing it to what is still much more than anyone in their right mind would pay for a car that old, because remember this is a 15 year old car we're talking about!

lucky I've got at least half a brain so i looked around and lo and behold, a simple internet search found many Barinas for thousands cheaper:

(old mate when I confronted him claimed he offered me something less than $3500 but he's written "$3500 (RRP 5000)" on the note he sent me away with so he's full of the brown smelly stuff in petty much every way. he then went on to criticise the car I did buy, basically because I went back to him to let him know how much sh*t I know he's full of. he missed the point entirely anyway, even if my care is a hunk of junk, that doesn't change the fact that he's severely ripping people off and acting like he's doing them a favour. obviously most dealerships do this but this is the worst I've ever encountered)

when i confronted old mate about his predatory prices he just got aggressive, focusing on anything wrong with the car i chose to buy instead of being ripped off by him than listen to my points that he's a rip-off artist (i bet if i came there to sell the lanos he'd have paid be 500 and sold it for 2500).

he was saying a daewoo lanos is no good because it's not Toyota, it's made in Korea (so what?might have made a difference before 1996 when the company was sold but since then consensus seems to be that they're great cars). I've spoken to plenty of people who've had no trouble other than basic maintenance and gotten 250-300,00km on the clock before anything other than normal maintenance starts to go wrong.
but besides that, he missed my point entirely. the fact that you can buy a (newer) barina so easily for less the $2000 let alone $3500 was the reason he's a slimey scumbag who deserves to go out of business.
