My advice. Let it go to voicemail. Look it up here. Call back if legit. This number is obviously not. Thanks to everyone who commented before.

Instead of hanging up on these people, try to get information out of them that can be passed on to police. They keep running this scam because obviously someone is falling for it, and most other people just ignore them. The only way they will be stopped is by the police catching them

I'm with Justice. Get as many details as you can without giving your details to them & pass them on to the police. Someone's falling for these scams or they wouldn't be doing this month after month,so time we turned the tables on them

I just got a call from (apparently) "First Response Legal" of Adelaide. Through question at me with out identifying himself... until I chased him back. Very unprofessional .... My best guess as to his accent was Irish (or Scottish) He asked I had been involved in a "Non Fault" accident in the last 12 months. I asked him is this was telemarketing, he said know, I asked if the caller was a government official he said No. The called claimed that my name had been gleamed from the "National Insurance Database" If this DB actually exists, then using it for unsolicited calls does seem a tad wrong. I asked him to remove me from their call list. Still dont know what he was going on about. BTW: We are in the process of getting re-insurance quotes and have sought quotes from insurance companies... This might be how they got MY name and Mobile number. ???

Had a call today, the caller said he was from the "First Response Team" wanting to speak with me. He called me by my last name and said it was regarding to the motor accident I had last month. I asked him again what is he saying. He said thankyou and hung up.
Scam, but how they know your last name is another story.
