They called me the other day, I was sick of their calls I told the Indian dude stop calling me and stop pretending you're from Optus if you call me again I would shove my Sony Xperia Z Ultra 6.4" phone up your a** then he hung up, now they are calling and singing. I wish I could get that dude face to face.

I got a call from this number, but quickly realised that the free phone from optus was a scam, so I hung up when they wouldn't get off the phone. They are now calling me everyday and hang up when I go to answer. frustrating!

Oh thanks, that explains it then; I received 2 calls to my mobile from this number today but when I didn't answer they didn't leave messages or try to text like a friend would so I thought it was odd.

I just received a call from this number today, same stuff as everyone else has said. I said that Optus doesn't work where I live, and they hung up. Now listed in my phone as Don't Answer - Optus Scam, along with about 3 other scam phone numbers.

Keeps calling me at odd times. Pretty sick of it.

I have never had a call from this number before..until today (3x I have not answered). Funnily enough I cracked my screen this week so I googled several phones online for specs and eventually bought a new one through ebay today before these calls started. Don't know about you guys/gals but it sounds a little too coincidental to me. Running virus checks as I type, but is it possible phone numbers were successfully mined off the recent ebay hacking?

ask them where their calling from and when they say Queensland, ask them what the address is there - they wont be able to tell you. other good thing too is to ask them to hold the line, put the phone down - they'll go a way eventually

If you are receiving constant calls from this (or any other) number, you can make a complaint to your telephone provider in relation to nuisance calls. Your provider will usually require 3 examples of dates/times that you have received a call and they can trace the call back to the provider who the number is billing with. A letter is issued to 'cease and decist' and if the calls continue (and you follow up your nuisance calls complaint with you own provider) your own phone provider can have the offending line disconnected, even if it's with a different carrier.

Attempted identity theft. Definitely fishing for identity details. Never answer the calls

This number called me 7 times in 40 minutes. I was eventually very fed up and answered. After questioning a few things such as whether I could get a different type of free phone and why if they worked for Optus they did not know whether I was on a plan or prepaid the man on the phone got extremely frustrated and hung up. They have not called me back. The entire exchange took about 2 minutes!
I always find the easiest way to get them to take you off their lists is to frustrate them.

I have reached the stage where I don't answer any numbers I don't know. If they're genuine, they'll leave a message and I'll call them back.

I get calls from this number at different times all day. When will they get the hint. I am not going to answer

I just had a call from them also told I was randomly picked an won a phone dumb me gave them info but not a bank account number. So ill ring my Bank now an inform them about this just incase. This is a scam?

These people call me at least 3 times a day !

Indian on the phone told me he was from optus and would like to upgrade me to a new phone. I said ''that's funny cause I'm not with optus and I'm not interested in whatever you have to sell me.'' I was expecting him to hang up but no he then abused me, calling me names etc. I then said that ''I was not interested in a new phone as my current one is 6mths old with a different company. When I said no it should have been the end of the phone call." he continued his abuse and I said ''right give me to your manager.'' After 5 mins of saying give me to your manager and him wanting to know why. I said to make a complaint. I was given to the floor manager (if you believe it) and he said my number will be placed on the do not call list. (which it already is)

Missed call twice, tried to call back twice - no answer, got suspicious so I looked up the number and found this site thanx guys will definitely not be answering them , they can call til the cows come home LOL!

Pure scam. I just told them that I was going to report them and they hung up.

Yep. My number was 'randomly' chosen to receive new phone. Said I wasn't interested the first time. Called back about 8x over wknd!!! I just blocked the number. Jerks!

My wife got four calls from this mob. Just hang up or don't call back. Scammers!!!
