No email address is listed on the home page of the Mitchelton Senior Citizens' centre so I will use this email address.
I am an 86 year old saxophone player who would like to start up a senior citizens band of saxophones, trumpets, trombones, keyboard, guitar, bass and drums. The band would play mostly dance music from prior to 1970 and I have have six senior musicians lined up already. I would love to arrange a symbiotic relationship between a weekly-rehearsing seniors' band and the Mitchelton Seniors' Centre just like the relationship between multiple bands and the Good Companions' Centre of Ottawa Canada that I was involved in from 1998 until 2008. The band could provide free one-hour concerts at the centre from time to time and even go on to provide dance music. Nothing like this now exists for Brisbane senior citizens but I have lined up half or the required number of senior musicians who would like to participate. I contacted the Burnie Brae centre but I did not detect any enthusiasm for them to host a large band of up to 17 musicians.
