The register is only good for local origin calls.Scammers can use other peoples local numbers from overseas.The LNP govt chooses not to make this illegal.So basically Australians are getting robbed,harassed,traumatised and have their IDs stolen because of lazy politicians.
The Do Not call regsiter should be abolished and replaced with a 'Please Call me Register, where ppl who want to be harrased opt in.That way everyone would be immune form nuisance calls and scammers and the dozens of do nothing workers in the current DNCR could be replaced by a single person.Other than a call blocking phone or device, the best bet is an answering machine which has number display.If you don't know the number do not answer.if the call is important or for you, they will leave a message.

Thanks to those people who take time to record scam numbers on here. I am averaging 3 or 4 of these types of calls a day and I am on the “do not call” register!

Two calls in 12 minutes.Scammers trying to climb the ethical ladder upwards towards the effluent running through their kitchen floor, so they can eat an extra cockroach every Tuesday night.They change the format of the number they call from more often than they stand up to urinate.

We have been smashed by nuisance calls since joining iinet and exposing our details to the feral SAfican call centre.
