My husband received a charge of $5/month for 2 months. He did not sign up or approve this number. Charges appeared on his Optus bill. Rang Optus. They said he needs to go into the Optus store to check and resolve. Lots of his wasted time. Optus has known about this and has done nothing. They earn $'s from it so don't care. Husband will file a Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman complaint: http://www.tio.com.au/ Husband said his research showed it to be (yet another) Nigerian scam. It's exhausting keeping on top of the multitude of scams these days. Technology and the Internet has brought a lot of issues which The Law has not kept up with. Customer Service = no one cares about the consumer anymore.

Came up on my Optus bill for SPONTANEOUS PLAY $4.55 Have never used it. Just use mobile for calls and messages to friends and family. Contacted Optus. They said they would block content charges in my mobile service and that the 'content provider' 1800 936 380 (if that's right) will call me in 5-7 working days to investigate and assist with a refund of charges. Will update after 5-7 days.
