When I answered, an Australian woman's energetic voice said very clearly:
'Hi, this is Ashley! How are you?'
I said: 'Who is Ashley?'
She hung up.

I too received from same mobile number - is now blocked - but as soon as I said I'm on the don't call register they hung up. Had enough of these to the point we don't pick up landline anymore, and now happening on mobile. FRUSTRATING to say the least.

Just got a call from this number - said they were 'Off Market Research' doing a 'lifestyle' survey. Refused some of her questions about mortgage/partners names etc. Asked for their contact details - she hung up. I called the number back and got the same disconnected message.

Got a missed call from this today at 3:55pm, however when I tried to call back it said the number's not connected.

Probably a scam survey... Sent them a bunch of lies... Told them I was Rachel (I'm not) I worked (I don't), said my partner worked (don't have one) luckily I was bored so I went along with it

A very rude man with an accent insisted me to do a survey over the phone. It is very annoying. It is from 0499 164 164.

Had three calls from this number today

Thought this had to be a scam number when my husband and I both received a call from this number at the same time - very strange when two mobile's start ringing at exactly the same time, with the same number displayed.

Called 5:31pm and exactly 2 hrs later 7:31pm because outside business hours I didn't answer. Looked up number and seems it's a scammer. Have now blocked so I don't get a 9:31pm call!!!!

Got a call from this number today, could not speak to them as I was on a mobile call. Tried to call back, got message the number is not connected. Thanks to all that have posted, call is a scam. Damn! I managed to get the "telstra Technician" to go away by wasting 40 minutes of his time, and now after 3 weeks the scams start up again.

Yes. Thanks goodness for "reverse line lookup Australia", I say. I've had about two dozen calls from this number since first answering and hearing only background chatter, then hanging up. (I mean, if someone legitimately rings you, etiquette demands they introduce themselves, tell you their business or ask if you'll hold: this caller did none of those things.)

I've seen enough here to realise I'm not missing anything important. Will ring Telstra and get it blocked. End of problem. Cheers. :)

This # tried calling last night 6.30pm & today at 3.15pm. Missed both times but they left no message & I didn't know them do didn't call back. Glad not to have bothered now. Pretty brazen using a mobile like # to get you. One to block!

Kept getting calls from this number at all times of the day, ignored it, and eventually added it to my blocked numbers list. Tried returning the call the first time, disconnected number, Certainly a scam.

Received a call at 9.30pm. I was in bed and didn't answer it.

This number called me at 9:30pm tonight. I didn't answer because I don't know the number and it's pretty late for someone to call and not leave a message or text. Glad I looked it up. Will block it now. Thanks everyone :)

This number called me yesterday asking if I have travelled overseas in the last 4 months I told the Indian lady I was at work & I wasn't prepared to answer that question. She was very rude & pushy so I hung up. I have received 3 calls tonight & now have added the number to my reject list. If this number continues to call me then I will call authorities.

This number constantly calls my phone an hour or so a part in the evenings (AEST). I always miss it or reject because I felt very suss about it. This time I answered and she said it was a 30 sec survey then went on to ask if I have travelled in the last 3 years to an overseas country. Then I hung up... Adding it to my BLOCK LIST!!!

these people are not only intrusive but dangerous please heed this warning
