don't answer or call back typical scammer

Indian sounding woman knows my family name...re accident claim. I get too many of these calls. I strung her along a bit with a tale of woe about my 'accident' got her to ring back next day which she did and I denied any knowledge of anyone by my family name and knew nothing of the phonecall....I hope I wasted her time enough to stop her from scamming some poor unsuspecting victim.
This is not a victimless crime....scamming destroys some people and I can't see anything proactive that's being done to flush it out and punish the grubs that do it. They only seem to react after some poor bastard has already lost their life savings....too little too late for some.

A scammer calling to tell me I'd been in an accident. Was news to me. Told them no I had not. They wanted to argue the point. I played their game and then hit them with, "Oh, I remember that accident. It's the one I died in." Beep...beep...beep...hung up on me. Have blocked the number. SCAM

Scam. Asked if I was in a car accidently recently told them No and to p@$$ off.

Scam, (lady with Indian accent).
She told me I was in an accident. I asked what her name was, she said Sofia, I asked her where did she get my number from she said from insurance brokers, I asked her where she was calling from she said George Street Sydney. I said that I will pass their number on to the federal police then she hung up.

Beep and pause when I answered is the trademark of a scam call.
Eventually a woman spoke: she claimed to be from "legal assist" about an accident I may have been involved in "some time ago".
Hung up immediately and blocked the caller.

HELLO MAM' U HAVE BEEN IN ACCIDENT? IN THE LAST TWO YEARS? THE USUAL YUDDA YUDDA -

Apparently I've been in an accident!! First I've heard. I'll go check my body parts and see if I'm okay.

‘Legal Assist’ re a compensation claim for accident. Asked questions, the woman got annoyed and got off quickly. Hung up.SCAM.

Dont normally answer mobile calls not in my address book. Beep so I hung up straight away

A beep at 6:04 pm and then they just hung up. We'd 17 March 2021

Didn't know number and when I don't, I simple answer, 'Queensland Police'. Then a pause. Then they hung up. Probably not legal for me to say such, but these type of calls have reduced for me.

James (Yeh, as if) phoned me today. Asked how I was and when I replied I was fine and didn't need any legal assistance he politely hung up. I knew it was a scam as soon as he mentioned he was from Legal Assist. Blocked

Yes definitely a scam, the usual deal, saying they are some legal firm in relation to an accident I had last year. I told them they should be ashamed of themselves and to get a real job and stop scamming people! Not that'd care, they just go on to the next number on their list.
