Messaged me off my motorbike ad in Gumtree. Exact same message as everyone else's; word for word!!!!

I just got the exact same message from this number for a camper trailer. Seemed a bit suspicious. Good to know I had the right feelings about it.

I’m out of town ATM now for work and i do not have access to receive calls at the moment due to nature of my work but I will be very happy if you can just get back to me with some information about it or pictures for me to see

Where is it located at the moment???
Is there anything I should know about it???
Why are you selling if you don't mind my asking.????
I know it’s very hard dealing online this way due to the scam going around, but I can send you a copy of my license for you to be sure.
As regards payment, I can easily make a deposit into your account from my PayPal into your bank or your PayPal account as I’m using a merchant account with PayPal.

Works out of town.... blah blah.

October 4/2024 just had a txt about car I have for sale on Gumtree. Thought it was iffy so made a quick check to discover it’s a scam . Called themselves Jacinta. BE AWARE !

Received an SMS message re gumtree add. Reply to rudekellymichael+lbs @ gmail.com - They wont have a phone conversation. Asks to have only email correspondence because he/she (It changes) cant call from work. Its a common scam. Beware of this caller or sms message from this number!!

When I first saw the SMS from this number it screamed scam, but then they followed up claiming they were texting from Gumtree, idiots.

I have had exactly the same enquiry - this one for a truck - and have played a dead bat in reply but this guy is persistent. I wont give poor Kelly Rudenski a call but might push back against whoever stole his identity.

Yesterday, I got the same messages as above plus he sent me a photo of Driver's licence and Medicare card of Kelly Michael Rudneski. I googled this name and found the real Kelly Runeski and then called him from and on a different phone number. He confirmed that he had received about 20 calls yesterday and that he had his ID stolen.
