ust received a call from this number claiming they were from "National Rebate Initiative". Said they were registered with ASIC. Told him I knew who they were and they are not registered with anyone. Told him not to ring the number again and hung up while he was still talking.

It's not that they call you and hang up, it's because many companies like this use a "dialler". They auto dial pre-saved numbers continuously and if you pick up the machine tries to connect you to an available operator within x amount of seconds. If all operators are busy it will hang up on you after x seconds. Just tell them to f*ck off

Similar rebate scam posted by others already to phish for your info. Just block this number.

No matter how many of these calls I block they keep calling on other numbers. Now if the number isn't in my contact list I let it ring through to answer bank and when they don't leave a message I search and then block.. bloody irating as get about 2-3 a day

Sounds a lot like they're fishing for information: I assume he wanted your address to send the "pack" that will never arrive to. They'll say anything in the hope you will confirm or deny the home owner status, permanent job, etc. and whatever bits of information you give them, they can use to pretend to be you when they call your bank to bleed your bank account dry. I saw a program on it on channel 2. They scrounge bits of information from people who innocently let slip a few facts about themselves, and use that to get more information about you from someone else, because they're con artists, and eventually they have your date of birth, etc. and can withdraw your life savings from your bank. Scary stuff.

Just had a call from this number. No one there. Ring it back and it says it is not connected. Why is it that the government can't shut this line down ? Obviously a scammer. Friggen wankers

Some Aussie guy claiming an "info pack with cash" was sent to our house. But you only get it if you work full time I just told him we both study and he hung up :)

Telstra call centre , if you have a Telstra phone , it's going to carry on for a long time.
Doesnt matter if you block the number or not , it's still be able to get in touch with you.

Calls then when you ring back they dont answer.when they call they hang up dont leave a message, calls mobiles and home numbers. Annoying tome wasting scams obviously!

Just missed a call from this very same number 0475 406 925. I went to call it back, and it said that the number is NOT connected. Very Sus.

Just had this number call some block trying to tell me I could be eligable for a tax rebate. lol ye right government would make it that easy to get money .... anyway started asking questions about household income house value what my work statues is went along for a bit until they asked about income/house value at which point i said im not interested the chap sounded terribly disappoint and then hung up...

It is so easy to block calls....
Look at the first screen where the caller called you and the caller's number is shown.ie '' Recents''
The people who called you are written in red..
You will see the day all these people called you ie the callers number and ''Wednesday''or 'Thursday"' Then look for a little sign to the right of that which looks like an i in a blue circle.
Tap that sign.
A new screen will come up . Scroll to the bottom of that screen and tap.... Block this caller....
This should work except that some companies can still call you on different numbers. Keep blocking them as well..

Got a call from this number. Tax 'scam'. When I told her I was not interested, she said 'why are you interested in saving $$$"???. I said I had calls like this before and most were scams. She said ok, no problem and hung up!
