This is a number used by the Australian Customer Care call centre for selling insurance.

Kept calling a friend of mine....but never did them the courtesy of leaving them a message. Their service provider needs to get involved in this and have their number revoked.

Yep, A call centre using a mobile number as a mask. They're getting tricky aren't they. Strange though, I still found it just as easy to hang up...Oops.

Called me 3 times over a number of days. He claimed to be selling life insurance.
I interrupted him and asked for my number to be removed from their database, and he said "I can't do that. You need to hold the line, and talk to my supervisor". I said "No - I won't hold the line". He said "Well, then I can not remove your number". I hung up.
This is either a telemarketing business with illegal practices or a scammer.
