I got the same message, 8th April. I assume it's a scam.

Telling me it’s a Msg from Chinese embassy

Scam SMS with message "Hello - Your item has been held at out distribution centre. Please follow instructions: <scam link>"

SMS scam trying to get me to call them. Claiming I made a purchase

Caller: Amazon scam

Same thing. Telling me I've paid for a laptop and to call another number for the dispute

I got a text from that number asking if I wanted to dispute a purchase of a gaming thing that I did NOT purchase. There was a phone number in Aus to ring. I rang. It was answered by a person with a strong foreign accent announcing 'Amazon customer service.' I don't have an Amazon account so I hung up immediately.

Most likely a scammer. Telling me about a purchase of a lap top from AMZ. Has a receipt number and a number to call if I wanted to dispute. 1800 481 593.
