Avoid them like the plague! Tells me he is an honest businessman - yet he asked me twice for cash payments - $5,500 installments. I refused. I told him I didn't feel safe carrying that amount of cash around, so he offered to go to the bank with me!
Other grievances - poor paint work, started to chip within days. Didn't clean up properly. He suggested several times to have a feature (tile) wall in the bathroom. I told him I don't like feature walls, but brought it up 4 times!
I told him I wanted a double sink in the laundry. He decided on a single one instead and organised the plumbing for a single unit. I said there won't be enough storage, he said he could put up shelving or a tall boy instead... I insisted on a double sink and got it, but he was rather upset about it. And he says he is customer focused!
And the icing on the cake: I asked him to place my dryer on the laundry wall. When I pressed the button to open the dryer it came straight down and narrowly missed me. I did sustain 2 cuts on my fingers. Lucky it wasn't wprse.
Mind you, I was still charged for the shelving and for a ceiling fan for the bathroom that wasn't installed. Never again! I have another bathroom that needs renovating and I'll be going elsewhere.
