Caller: Security from Visa & Mastercard

A man called and said my card had been used at 4am with large payments to Amazon and eBay. He then proceded to ask "which Bank" the card is from?
That is when I hung up. The alarm bell was ringing in my head!!!!. I quickly phoned the Bank and asked them to see if anything had been going on. There were no transactions of those amounts or at that time. Please be aware - the man told me his name was Allan Edwards and even gave his id number - which I am sure is false.
