OptusMSG: You've used 500MB, so for an extra $2 we've bumped you with another 524MB MyData (for use until 11:59pm local time). See optus.com.au/dailyplus

It's Russian surveillance. I was entered into a database when I gave my number to the Russian Embassy in Canberra. I confronted them later - yes they do have access to your phone and they are being open about it - and Maxim said "Trust no one". True story.

When I changed Optus Prepaid from $2.00 to $1.50 daily I had a so called welcome message just after "you've been bumped up to $1.50 daily level. Enjoy unlimited MyTalk till 11.59pm etc" referring me to the official Optus website. That message repeated a few times and I said to myself "OK it's a good deal". Ever since then, I have been plagued with that repetitive SMS about 200 times in 4 months!!!!!!!!!!! I think it is Optus too because how come the frequency pattern is erratic, like when I have to top up and afterwards, there's even more? Do not text them whatever you do. Phone the Telecommunications Ombudsman at 1800 062 058 and the Australian Communications and Media Authority about these Spam Texts at 0429 999 888. That is an official nb for mobile owners. There's the SpamWatch website (a government project 10 yrs strong). Also the ACCC at 1300 302 502 that is the Consumer Commission Dept for the Government. It was good I found this website as well. I intend to make up for 4 months of nuisance texts. That is SPAM.

Because I'm overseas I can't receive calls without having credit... And someone has tried to contact me a lot lately, because I've gotten 46 messages from this number, saying "Optus Advises that you have insufficient credit to make a call..." but I can't find out who has tried to contact me, even after buying credit online.
