Caller: Amazon Prime Scammer

Got a robocall claiming that Amazon will auto-renew my Amazon Prime account and charge me $29.95 per month If I did not agree to this then I should press 1 to cancel it.

Knowing it was a scam call I pressed 1.
I was transferred to a man with an Indian accent in a busy office.
He claimed to be from Amazon and asked if I wanted to cancel my payment and why?

I told him that I did not ask for an Amazon Prime account, did not need it and did not want it. He said that cancellations could only be done online on their cancellation website and not over the phone.

So I asked him if it could be done on the Amazon.com website and he said that it could not and that Amazon had a special cancellation website for me to go to to enter all my details to cancel the payment, account etc.

When I said that it sounded like a scam and that I wanted him to confirm one detail about me (name. bank name, credit card type etc.) he refused stating that I could use the information illegally. He could not even give me my initials for the same reason.
The only verification information he could give me was my phone number (which the robocall machine would have given him) so that proved absolutely nothing.

I called his bluff, told him that I knew it was a scam and let him have it.
Even though I kept on abusing him for being a scammer, he kept on insisting that it was all legit and that there was no scam, and that unless I went to the cancellation website and entered my details the payment would go through.

I abused him some more and hung up.
It is very enjoyable to let loose on one of these scammers, you should try it.

FYI, do not go to the website they give.
They will just use the information you provide to steal your identity and take all your money.

All amazon account updates would be done on the Amazon.com website.
