it is World Vision, but it's just their regular switchboard: not fundraising or spam calls. Calls come to me on this about work I am doing for them. it wouldn't surprise me if child sponsors get calls via here because they have an ongoing relationship with the organisation.

I do sponsor a child and did not know this was World Vision until I found out on this site. I'm happy to sponsor a child but not to take marketing calls. I did not answer the call and they did not leave a message

I just had a call from this number today because I've sent an email regarding something about my sponsor child. I wish they would respond to that and not call me as I've said I prefer email contact and not phone calls, I've had so many telemarketing calls that I now don't answer most numbers I don't identify.

i left this to go to voicemail as i do... i realised it was world vision and called them back as i thought it was the call back i had requested but he seemed not to know about this issue i had called them about so it's just marketing methinks

I have blocked this number. I do this with all repeated hang ups.

I am getting calls (4 missed calls so far as I'm not picking up) from the same number on my mobile and I sponsor a child with World Vision so I guess it is them. I don't like to decide over the phone about changing donations amounts so prefer not to receive calls like this but can appreciate that they are just doing their job as I work for a nonprofit, but I don't do telemarketing.

I sponsored a child through them also but had to stop due to change in financial circumstances. I don't want people chasing me for wine sales, money,solar panels or whatever. It's an invasion of privacy and if I want something I will ask for it!

I emailed World Vision through their website & they confirmed that it is a World Vision phone number.

We keep getting calls from this number and they just hang up at the other end, I don't know why they won't say anything at the other end?

I keep getting missed calls with this number. Whenever I have called it back it is an answering machine with a message from World Vision but the number doesn't match the website phone number?

I sponsored WV children and when I went to visit them in Africa, I found that they were not getting the healthcare that I was paying for. Also things were happening within their family structure (parent died) that I should have been told about, at least to save embarassment on both sides when we exchanged letters. So have a think about exactly where that money is going because sometimes it isn't being directed where it should. My sponsorship ended 2 years ago due to the project ending. WV keep calling me even though I am no longer interested in their charity.

So that makes you more superior than other people? You can't just pigeon hole people just because they don't want a charity organisation to call them as they may have problems of their own.  Not everyone in Australia is leading a comfortable lifestyle. Some families struggle to put food on their table simply because of increase in utility bills, rents and other essentials and $42 per month can mean a lot to many financially under-privileged families.

Ha Ha, Kane now that is a new one! insulting people and calling them names in order to get them to buy-in to your pre-concieved ideas about what is selfish and what is not.  How do you know if these people that you call fools are not actually helping people in their own neighbourhood, family or friend circle? To assume that you are actually 'helping' people by giving them money is foolish and ignorant.  I got a call from this number today and I missed the call, and I am quite annoyed that these people are on a 'sales drive' to encourage people to donate more money, I used to sponsor two children through WV but I cancelled it because quite frankly I felt I was being used and I questioned the real usefulness of charities like WV.  I appreciate that we need to help the needy, but there are so many needy people in my country and I would prefer first to help them, then if I still have the energy I can look abroad to help other people, but at least at 'home' I can see if my help is warranted and actually makes a difference.  So get off your high horse, you aint right just because you think you are.
