"Optus regrets that the number you have dialed has been disconnected" - as at 23 August 2018

Keeps calling and when you return the call it says 'the number you have called is not connected....have now blocked number

Caller: caller gave the name of Laura

Claimed to be from "National Tax Solutions" , offering financial solutions to eligible people under 59yrs. They ask person questions about your financial situation, age, marital status, if you have children under 18's, if you are a home owner, value of home if you were to sell, do you have a mortgage and how much you have in superannuation. When I expressed my concerns about privacy, confidentiality about this information, I was advised that they will only give your information to their supervisor (person unknown) who will ring you back with 48hrs with some you beaut deal for future investment. I have no idea if this legitimate or not, but will be blocking caller.

When I rang this number back, I got a recorded message saying that the number was not connected.

Caller: Don’t know company name

A financial company who wants to sell investment portfolios. They play on your emotions, asking you if you want to pay off your mortgage within X amount of years (5 from memory). They tell you that the government allows people who fall within a certain criteria are allowed to use their tax dollars to pay off their mortgage but to do so it needs to be invested in approved portfolios. Spoke to my financial advisor & he said it’s basically like negative gearing property. They are VERY persistent if you say no so I ended up hanging up on them.

This number has called 8 times today. Every time there's dead silence, no response when you say hello, nothing. Haven't called the number back, but don't intend to.
