A female caller her voice (background noise as if call centre) had Indian accent alerting me to a problem with my IP address. She then informed me that I will be speaking with a male who was supposed to be a technical expert. I told the expert to be very careful about what you are going to say to me, as I was in IT for 35 years. He hung up the the phone immediately. This number is a scam posing as Telstra.

Caller: 'Telstra Technician'

Initially an Indian woman who then passed me on to her 'supervisor'.
Claimed there was a problem with my IP, asked me to check its status and then asked me to install iperius software. I went along with it, didn't install anything said I'd have to call him back because it's not working at the moment, asked for his return number, he hung up immediately.

Claimed to be from Telstra technical Department. Told them I wasn't falling for that scam and he pleaded ignorance and didn't know why I thought it was a scam. Really??? These people need to be stopped.

Caller: John - allegedly from Telstra

Caller: Claiming they were from Telstra in Exhibition St.

Said there was an issue with my Internet going from Private mode to Public mode and was an issue with my service (I am with Optus). They then asked me to login to my PC and wanted give them my IP address, they also claimed to have some code that could verify themselves. I wanted as much of his time as I could, after asking if I was the only one or whether this was a wider Telstra issue. When he said it was - I asked for the name of the Head of Telstra Customer Service so we could request an urgent national media release. I asked him to check his intranet as any Telstra staff member would have access to that data.....I think he knew he’d been made by that point. When I tried returning the call, Optus regrets the number you’ve dialled is disconnected!

Caller: They said telstra

The person who called me was a woman with an Indian sounding accent and there was call centre noise in the background.
They said they were calling regarding nbn and then asked if I was a business. When I said no she said she’d rung the wrong number and hung up.
Sounded like they were looking for a business to scam.
They called again yesterday and left a message but all you could here was the call centre noise.
They called again today and I blocked the number. Hopefully that’s the end of that

Asian female caller speaking poor english stated she was from Telstra and there was a problem with our NBN. She asked for the IP address so the problem could be fixed. When asked 'who are you, what is your name?' she hung up.

A female called "Tilo" with Indian accent said she was from Telstra calling me because my internet "become public", "anyone can see it" and was to show me how to set it to default as private. She showed me how to obtain ip address via chrome and asked me for it, which I refused to give. She then asked me to type "iperius remote" (i.e. i know to eventually let her control my PC!) I refused and said I would contact Telstra directly!

Sad!!!
