Hey guys, just thought I'd give a bit of information coming from a current employee. As a market research company we are exempt from the do not call register, you can check question 11 of the do not call websites FAQ section for more information.
If you don't want us to call, just tell us and we'll be happy to take your number off the list. If you can't seem to get hold of one of the callers, call the number on the website (9699 8466) and they'll do it for you (you'll probably need to give your state + number).

This number has been a total nuisance and I have requested the Do Not Call Register to Assist. They said it was Sweeney and that they conduct legitimate market research so they can't act, but provided me with their number. I rang and complained and then a week later nothing had happened so I rang them again and they said it wasn't their no. but it was a hotel number. They also told me about this website and so we both found that the culprit was Sweeney Recruitment which is different to Sweeney Market Research and the number that I was given by the Do Not Call register as a contact. So now I will go back to the Do Not Call Register and endeavour to put a stop to these incessant calls. Unfortunately, you can't ring these guys back...yet they can pester us as much as they like.
Aaron, this isn't something I'm assuming or making up, it's written all over the do not call register website for everyone to see, you can go there yourself - my previous post will tell you where to look. You can also call the do not call register for more information.
Regardless, as I stated previously, call the office and ask to be removed from their list, they'll be more than happy to help you. We understand that a lot of people are not interested in doing our surveys, and it's not only a waste of your time for us to call you but also ours, as there are a lot of people who are genuinely interested in completing our surveys and each time we call someone who isnt interested it's time wasted. We don't care if you dont want to do them, we're paid hourly and not on commission, but hanging up on us or ignoring our calls will only leave you stuck on our list of redials, so it's in your best interest to politely ask to be removed and we'll be more than happy to help.
i was receiving numerous calls, but when i answered, 'no one' was there. very annoying. number was blocked from displaying. started getting concerned.i contacted telstra & they have a service - 'unwelcome calls'. i'm making use of the service. i was informed that computer generates calls & if all 'staff' are busy, call won't be answered there end!!today, received a call from (03) 9684 9400 - same thing, when i answer, 'no one' there.
Sounds like matteroffact works for them.
They DO breach Do-Not -Call register. Been on it for years (and yes reregistered when required) and still get calls. Dogs!
Got a missed call from this number, they didn't leave a message. I avoid returning the call in case it's one of those scams.
