Same thing.  This number started ringing me out of the blue.  I'm with Telstra.  When I joined Telstra I had the same thing happen -- phone ringing two to four times a day, but no message.  I just put the phone on silent and put the number down in my address book as "scam".  It stopped after a bit.  Annoying though.

I rang Telstra on 132200 to report constant calls on my mobile from this number and (08) 9424 4755. These calls are auto calls from a machine (to check if you answer) from telemarketing companies.  If you give Telstra permission they will contact the Telemarketers and have them remove your number from their call list.
With land lines they can simply block the call.

Same Same... have been receiving these calls for near on a fortnight now but it come up as 'BLOCKED' on my iphone.  I have answered one or two calls and am just hung up on!  Today I have had about 5 calls and 2 voicemails left (the first time voicemails have been left) but the line just cuts out in the message.  I answered another call this afternoon and got an automated service stating it was telstra with a message (or something) for me - it stated my name and then requesting I press #1 to confirm my name.... I did then it asked for my DOB.  It was at this point I hung up and rang Telstra to ask them why or if they were calling me.  They had no information on my account about a pending call or issue and were unaware of what appears to be some form of hoax or scam to get peoples personal details.

I am a permanent night shift worker and have recieved calls from this number on a daily bacis usually about 10.30 am for the past couple of weeks. The phone rings so long it wakes me up. Like many other people when I answer it disconnects. it is very annoying and I find it difficult to get back to sleep.

Wanted my date of birth and wanted permission to record the conversation - and this was going to improve my telephone service how?
    Telstra gets an epic FAIL.
    Go away telemarketers!

This number just called at 6:10pm, Melbourne time.Busy background noise, caller identified himself as Shaun from Telstra. I noted an accent. He asked for my husband by first name (correctly, I guess, as that phone line is in his name). When he passed the phone over he asked my husband for a confirming date of birth.Hubbie, of course, refused to give this as they called us.(The possibilities for identity theft are great, in case you didn't know).Shaun said he would be unable to proceed without that confirmation and got off the line.Well, good - we didn't ask them to call us!
