This number called at meal time (7:36pm), very heavy Indian accent, claimed his name was Tony (yeah sure, I believe you), calling re Government Rebate on Solar. Advised him he was breaking the law by calling numbers on the "Do not Call Register".
As has been said many times on this site, what is the point of the "Do not Call Register" and when will the Government have enough guts to crack down on these SCAMS.

Rang at 7.57 Friday evening. No one on other end. Not the first time either.
We are on the do not call register. Doesn't seem to make any difference.

They are persistent buggers! (03) 9598 6277 and because I don't know the number, I refuse to pick it up! Of course they don't leave a message. If they continue to call me (yes, I'm on the "do not call register" then I might just pick up the phone one day and give them a piece of my mind!

Yeah had 3 missed calls from this number now. All during the day luckily whilst we're at work. Mind you.. I've got a nice loud Refs whistle hanging right by the phone for next time. (also works wonders on heavy breathers)

Yep - I just copped them .not happy when I told him I already had solar and still wanted to talk about it. If they say they are ringing about government rebates then the bloody government should do something about it! I am also on the Do Not Call Register and I have a block on overseas calls

Clearly overseas call using Australian number. Indian accent about Government Rebate Scheme for Solar Panels. Told her the person she asked for died last week - so she asked for the home owner! When I suggested she might understand it wasn't a good time she actually apologised & hung up. How are these overseas call centres allowed to get Australian phone numbers?

They have rang from private numbers and now this number! Wanting to know about government solar panels. Each time I tell them where to go and they don't listen! So angry!

I have had a gut full of this mob. I have had 9 03 area code numbers blocked in the last month. No sooner do you get their number blocked, they are ringing you on another number with only last 2 or 3 numbers different. Surely someone in authority can stop them. I am on do not call register & dosnt stop them. They ring home & mobile number every day 2 or 3 times a day & this number today (Sat) at 3.50pm. What else can we do?
