It's a company called AEGIS. They are a contract call centre for many different companies. Examples are Ambulance Victoria, The Good Guys, Energy Australia, and Westpac. Answering it is the only way to find out exactly who.

Ambulance Victoria called me today from this number if that helps anyone :)

Get numerous calls from this number daily. I dont answer, finally ran this number back to only to listen to a recorded message to say they are a "bank" for may services. Tried to get onto the "callquery.com.au" site....unable to access it.

" Hello, ... St Kilda Rd Police Headquarters ... what is the business of your call?

Received a call claiming to be Ambulance Victoria about my lapsed bill. I called Ambulance Victoria Head Office to confirm and they said yes they had called so obviously not all companies using this call centre are scammers.

They keep calling even as late as 9pm. I work nights sleep during the day. I refuse to call a person back who will not leave a voicemail msg. Cause ten it's obviously not important.

I'm in WA and I have just got a call from this number (03) 9038 5700 but when I answered they just hung up.

How about contacting the telco ombudsman... This number rings l answer they hang up!!!!

With caution, I followed the advice of someone on the first page and went to the website "callquery.com.au". I wrote in a fake first and last name, ticked the box for 'remove my number' and then wrote my number in the box that appeared. A new screen said my number would be removed within 48hrs and I received a 4-digit confirmation number of my request. Time will tell!
