Multiple calls received and caller hangs up once I answer

Asked me for energy provider details and looking to get personal information and pretending to be a wholesaler of energy plans. The company has no registered ABN and is a pure scamming set up

When I’m on sites I don’t exactly trust when purchasing stuff I use an email account I’ve had since I was nine and a small portion of my name so then I can tell the scam emails from the real ones. Now, I just got a 03 call located in Dandenong and I picked up and answered and they took a whole to get back to me and before they did there was the classic scam call beepbloop sound, then they asked if there was a “Miss Ash [incorrect pronunciation of last name]”. My next step was to say no there is not and they said okay sorry and hung up.

This is a first for me, I have never received a scam call with my scam-catcher name…

Just calls and hangs up. Calls multiple times per day and clearly will never stop. You just have to block the number. Amazing how this type of abuse of Telco services continues to degrade and harrase people world wide. Apparently no one is accountable for Telco services abuse... certainly not the carrier providing the number. But if you were to download a movie file illegally, your ISP would quickly identify you and block your connection or more.. I guess phone carriers are too big and too close to the AU Gov politicians to have to take action on these types of issues.

Missed the first call. They called again a few hours later.
Answered, caller knew my name. Sounded like a sales call from India so hung and and blocked.
