Try to avoid saying the word “yes” just in case they claim you agreed to something.

Scam
Posted on December 19, 2018 Caller type: Unknown Location: Australia
Caller: Aholes These aholes are the worst scammers on my watch. When they called me I though it was a fast way (couriers) calling about my delivery! I said "hello" 3times before I got one hello back! Then I was like "why you are calling me and where, what company are you from?" My answer was "hello" than they hang up. I am certain this is a scam and what ever they are trying to get... Don't let them!!!

Caller: I don’t know They called me asked if I was *my name* and when I said yes they just stopped speaking and started walking around with the phone and I kept saying hello and got no reply. When I called them back it was the sound of a phoney ringing for ages then some bot said their some company and they know I’ve called back about their amazing deals.

Caller: Scammer! Woman on the phone said my name and asked if it was me: "Hello, is this Mary Smith?". I said yes and she said her name and a company (I didn't catch the name of the so-called 'company'). She said she was calling regarding my electricity account. I live at home, so I don't have my name on any utility bills, so I told her "I don't have an electricity account". She apologised and hung up abruptly before I could ask where she was calling from. In the background of the call, it sounded like a busy call centre and the call supposedly came from Dandenong, Victoria. Woman had an accent (South Asian?).
