Ever since my wife joined Doctors without Borders (Medecins sans Frontieres) 3 years
ago we have been receiving calls quite frequently from other organizations. Also I give to Red Cross, and about 5 months ago they rang me wanting me to increase my monthly donation, I politely declined because I couldn't afford to and after that WHAM! they must of given our number to every charity in Australia just to piss me off.

I was getting so annoyed with them calling 2-3 times a day and not leaving a message. I can't always answer my phone at work so when I check it in the afternoon there is heaps of missed calls from (03) 8554 1115, (03) 8363 4447, (08) 7070 2532, (08) 6555 6592, (02) 8999 1299, (02) 8014 7673 and I've tried blocking the numbers but it seems that as soon as you block a number they use a different number to try and contact you. I don't know whether they all belong to apple marketing group but its VERY frustrating.

Not sure that I get too many - if I haven't spoken too soon! I DO know that ONCE I fielded a genuine call that was from AppleMarketing group on behalf of one of the charities that I give to I asked for verification of what I last gave, and they were able to give that to me. Today they just hung up, as I didn't reach the phone in time. It was anannoying interruption to quiet time!!

Add the number to your contacts. Name it "Do not answer". When they call, you'll know not to answer, or pick up and hang up, so they pay a connection fee. They are a profit making business paid a commission by the charities they choose to ring for.

I get calls from this number everyday.I check the ID and then I DON'T ANSWER!
If they want you they would leave a message.....
I'm over those calls :(
I also get calls on my mobile from other numbers so i have added them in the contacts as "scammer do not answer"

Rang me at least 3 times today 27/02/15.Start off calling as a private number then revert to (03) 8554 1115. Sick to death of getting these calls daily.

I get these calls too. I think its either the cops or sherriff. Are any of you in trouble with the law or sheriff? I am just curious. This might be a way for them to track me. Otherwise how can they be all these wonderful charities. Just curious.

Take the call don't talk , don't hang up for 15 min. They wont call again.

These calls are a PITA. Thank goodness for answering machine & displayed number! So over hawking calls! Everyone wants hand outs these days. NOT INTERESTED!!!!

This crowd works for non-profit organisations.
They are exempt from the Do Not Call Register because they work for charities.
This does not excuse their behaviour, my advice is to call the particular charity they are representing and complain directly to them. Charities hate negative feedback, word of mouth is very damaging to their donation income. If they think the public has a bad opinion of them they are usually pretty quick to take steps to rectify the matter otherwise no more donations.
