DON'T ANSWER - This telemarketer called after being on a website for free samples. They have rung me 13 times in the past 2 weeks. I hung up on them today as I'm over dealing with the rude pushy don't take no for an answer attitude, they have since rung me 3 times and hung up on me. (Of cause I went to answer after the second call to give them a mouthful). I have already told them I am not interested in there telecom plan ( that's if they even are actually an associate of telecom ) I believe nothing that telemarketers announce to be via phone these days after other cold calling scams earlier this year. Stay away from this number their rude !!!!!!!!! :( As
i'm writing this he has rung up again and hung up. My god he must be so busy. Wow.

Yep, someone from this number called me last night, claiming to be from a telecom company affiliated with Telstra (we rent our home line from Telstra through another company, but are not billed directly by them!). He claimed to be offering "additional benefits" to our existing plan at no extra cost, but asked me for my drivers license number or medicare number to 'prove I am an Australian citizen'. Interesting, as neither of these items provide proof of citizenship!! I then put him on to my husband, who is the co-account holder for our internet account, and this guy was unable to confirm any details about my husband. All I can assume is that this is some sort of identity theft racket.

Indian scammers trying to find out details about my internet service. Although told not to contact me back they continue to, so blocking is the only solution

Same, same, same as all above. I DID pick up once on another line just different last digit & explained nicely I HAD NO INTEREST esp as I had no landline & no intention of getting it re-connected. Made no difference. NOTHING was gonna stop this Indian fella from his sales pitch- no matter how many times I said STOP - it's a massive
NO - you will not change my mind - he just went on & on & on & on & on & on etc. I just had to laugh & hang up while was still going on & on & etc. Only thing
I could understand was Telstra!!! Poor guy - he really gave it a go, but they really gotta learn to take "NO" graciously!!!!!!

These people do think we are stupid I think as we where told the NBN was ready to be installed at our new build house and this turns out to be true, but they failed to do there home work as our property has no hard wiring or no set up hardware to even run a tumble weed going down our street. They would have sold us a plan in actual fact that we could not use and if by chance we did get that thing working it could have been months to be activated with wasted monthly bills with no recourse but to cancel which would have cost an additional $200 to back out of a contract we cant even use. This is false advertising and extremely misleading as well as being bare faced liars who are pushy and wont listen and talk way to fast. I even rang the NBN Co phone help desk for inquiries and they said they cant stop this happening, and they don't have an official way of tracking or prosecuting they morons who try to rip us off. The best bet for every one is to report this through the Tele -Communications Ombudsman and let them chase these thieves and stop this behavior. And yes I agree from the others posting these responses that you need to block these numbers if they are listed , or if anonymous simply don't answer it. My policy is if they hide there number they are misleading you straight away by been secretive and should alert you immediately .

I'm getting Telstra to look into this matter at the moment. They have Telstra on hold and sure they won't take their call as they know they are being caught out!
