Who are you

call and hang up

similar to above - I am registered on the Australian 'Do NOT Call List' so I am not sure how or why I am receiving these calls! I've had 5 over the last 10 days. Each time I connect the call is disconnected at the other end with no answer - nothing - just hangup and disconnect!! I consider these to be nuisance calls!

They keep ringing don't leave message I have a private number what am I paying phone company when these idiots can still ring me

Same as the above 3 or 4 rings then hung up....

I've had about 10 missed calls from this number... I guess they don't give up

This number keeps calling my home phone without leaving a message. Sometimes while the message record is working you can hear several people talking in the background. Maybe it is a telemarketer.

Just got a missed call from them. They seem to have hung up even though it was within 7 rings. Probably expecting me to return the call. No thanks.

Missed call my landline this morning - Mon 4 June 2012 - I dialed *10# to get this number (the last number calling me) - I rang the number back several times, and it was either engaged and discounted/answer.

By the way, I have been entering a lot of online competitions lately, I know these calls are related that they are calling me to do telemarketing

Phone rang, but before we could answer it hung up (about 3-4 rings). Using *10# we identified the number but it is consistently engaged.

Just received a call from this and number and I've missed the calls before but this time I answered. It was a man calling on behalf royal guide dogs Australia. Before he could say anything else I interrupted his spill by saying "So your not an actual representative of RGDA but your calling on behalf of them yes?"
He hesitated and responded with a yes I'm not an actual representative I'm calling from a telemarketing centre on their behalf.
I said, "well first of all I don't ever make any financial transactions over the phone, and secondly if I was wouldn't that mean a lot of the money would then go to paying telemarketers rather than going to the charity." and again he seemed thrown aback by this comment.
Then I asked "Could you please tell me what percentage of my money would actually go to this charity if I was to make a donation right now?"
His response: "Um well the RGDA invests a small amount of money in our company to make calls and x amount goes to us and Y amount to them"
"Yes but X and Y amount doesn't actually give me a figure does it?"
"I don't know how much"
"Look I know your doing your job I will not donate If my money isn't going to the cause and calls like this are only going to put people like me off of donating to these charities.
he seemed pissed off and said "we'll put you on our do not call list"
and I said "thank you" and hung up

I have had this number ring me several time while im at work, it is so annoying why dont they just stop ringing, i dont answer the call so why keep ringing...

I have had this number call me several times, when i tried to call it back, i could not get through,  Thanks to Paula Campbell and Imo for their reports, i will put this Number beside my phone so i know not to answer it in future,  Thanks for the info

Same nearly very day am and pm for the past few months receiving a call from this number (03) 8199 0509 Number ID shows so know not to answer, it is a serious problem, every day is annoying to say the least! I have just called (03) 8554 6100 to have my number removed from the annoying number 03  88037699 I also have been receiving. She said this number (03) 8199 0509 was not one of their's.  So back to square one with (03) 8199 0509, how to get rid of it too?

I wish they would stop calling me I am sick and tired of getting calls from people wanting money.
