QUERY IF A SCAMMER?
I received a call to my mobile late this morning 21 July 2020 from a female saying she was from Advance Melbourne conducting a survey re affects of lock-down on people. It seemed to be pre-recorded as when I tried to interrupt it continued without pause and asked " Q1. are you under 58 years old'. I hung up and did not try to call the number back. Has anyone had a similar call?

Called number back and just got engaged signal - 3 times

If they can't leave a voice mail then it is not important.

Missed call from this number.
No message left.
Based upon earlier users comments I will not attempt to call this number.

I had the exact same call today - 22/7/20 as below:- she was asking about the financial effect lock down was having on Victorians. I didn't even make it to question 1 before hanging up!

Don't you just love the block feature on your mobile - if they can not leave a message yet continue to call - I call Scam

I got someone trying to scam me from this number 02/09/2021 11.20am.
They though my last name was the same as another scammer from another number the other week, who was keen to obtain my date of birth, address & full name to give me a 40% discount on my phone bill.
This time I just said that's not me, wrong number & hung up.

They accidently left a message on my voicmail. Just said "hello, is that (my surname)". Then nothing and hang up. I wont be calling them back.

Received call 30/7. Initially thought it was a live person, then after they offered to put me in the draw for $1500 cash and began the survey, it was obvious it was pre-recorded so I hung up and blocked the number.

Thanks for the info, just received a call from this number. I didn’t answer and no message was left so assumed it was spam. Great info on here.

Woman voice on pre recorded message. I hung up right away. Not important if they don't ring back.

Called while I was on another call. Am wating to hear from DHHS so called back in case it was them. Immediately for the engaged tone, twice!

Yes I just had the same pre recorded message, checking in people through the lockdown. If they were genuinely serious they would have an actual conversation and hear people out. Im too busy to listen to a recorded message.

Caller: Advance Something

Spam call with prerecorded female voice asking about age (above or below 58), whether I will need to sell a house I don't have to survive during pandemic etc. voice got hard to understand, when I said as much the call hung up. No point calling back as read other people's comments.

Received a missed call from the above number this evening. Based on the feedback given above by others, I've now blocked the number.
