This is a scam.
A guy with an Indian accent said he was from Amazon. He said my Amazon account had some unusual activity and someone was trying to buy an iPhone on my account. He sent me an email that looked like it was from Amazon showing that someone in West Bengal had tried to purchased an iPhone on my amazon account. He said he could check my full account and block the transaction and check the security of my account. He wanted me to download AnyDesk which is a remote access app. He was very persistent and insisted that he would help me sort out the account. I was concerned about him but the emails looked real. Fortunately, it just didn't seem right and I hung up and checked out his number.

No message left. Assuming they're checking to see if the number is active. Regular repeated calls are a nuisance.

Heavy accented Indian voice told me I had unpaid fines and I would be arrested if I didn't pay them. I asked him what my name and address was and the phone went dead.

Caller: Scammer pretending they were from Amazon Prime

Lady with indian accent saying she is from Amazon prime and I've missed a payment. I was annoyed and told her I was on the do not call register and to remove me from her database. She spoke over the top of me and said I am missing a payment. I'm even more annoyed than before (dont even have an amazon account) and decide to let her know in Hindi, that I'm on the do not call register, remove all my details from the database. Bye. I think she was dumbfounded.

Called a few times this week. Unknown number to me, so I suspected a scammer and came here to check.

Said from NBN and there was a problem. My connection was going to be disconnected in 4 hours. Asked where she was from & gave address as 2 Park St Sydney. Then I asked who my supplier was & said Telstra. Told her she was wrong & she hung up.

Caller: They said on automated message "AMAZON"

Obviously a scam as they were about to charge me $99 to retain my account with Amazon. Fortunately I had not answered their call and they left a message so I could know who it was and block yet another number.
