They are a registered telesurvey company that undertake customer satisfaction surveys for a variety of companies and opinion surveys for some political parties both of which are exempt from the do not call list as they are not undertaking an unsolicited sales call. A large number of companies provide them with their customer information until recent changes to right of use legislation say they can only give them that information if they have asked you. Aurora have it in their tarif agreement that you sign allowing them share the information with their research company.

Hello to all other posters of this of this site - I too receive these scam phone calls and just like you, am fed up to here with them all. I am on the DNC list (whoopdy-bloody-do) and have contacted Telstra (whoopdy's mate).

Now, when I recieve this calls (and should answer the call on the hop - and if the caller hasn't hung up first), I tell the caller I am the housekeeper and I should not be answering the phone.

My latest trick - as soon as I answer the call, I quickly put the caller on hold and pretend to make a 2nd call - jams their line, (and mine) thank goodness for mobiles.

Telstra can block up to 15 nuisance callers. With this mob added to our list, we are up to 12 since we started using the block last year. For reasons unknown, we have had four new pests start calling in as many days. Pity they can't find real jobs!

Simple: if I don't know who is calling and I'm at home I disconnect the call, otherwise I let the answering machine to take the over "leave your phone number and message other wise you're wasting your time" ... so I mean DO NOT BE CURIOUS. If everyone follow the example there's a chance we'd get rid of those idiots.... and something else, the main culprit are the phone companies for keeping a public directory! I used to be frustrated in the past but not any more and I actually I enjoy it!

What is the use of having the 'do not call register' when we are being harassed by phone calls like this all the time

Well now that I know that this is a bull shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....t group, I will now call the telstra unwanted calls 1800 number and get this number blocked from being able to call me as well. 1800 805 996 is the Telstra number to call to get them to block these types of numbers from being able to call you. They said that it's possible for me to do it via my phone and they'll send me the info on how to do it but I am still waiting for them to send me the information.

I have a uniden landline phone and I am going through all my missed calls on & blocking numbers after I have googled them to confirm they are spam. They are calling during the day and getting the answering machine

Just got my fist call from this number. I am a job seeker and could not afford to let it go unanswered. No response to my hello on answering and could her background noise Caller hung up. I am also on the do not call register. I will not be answering this number in the future.

They are ringing us 3 times a day, in the afternoon and evening. Thanks to this site their calls are being blocked since their first call.

This blog was helpful. Just got a call from this number and they hung up as I answered. Did not bother to leave a message, go figure. I'm also on the do not call llist. There should be more that can be done to stop these people from cold calling like this!

They rang yesterday. I am on the do not call register. I let the answering machine get it. They did not leave a message

Received a call from this number (03) 6108 0800. The caller said they were from EMRS which is a market consultancy based in Tasmania. When queried she said they were exempt from the Do No Call Register as they do market surveys and are not offering anything for sale. Their website basically says they will survey people via telephone for a price. www.emrs.com.au

They call every night between 7.30 and 8.15. Why can't they leave a message if it's so important instead of hanging up.Very annoying and if shoe on other foot would they like it!! NO.so please STOP ...

Excellent info here in the comments. They just rang & I let it go through to the wicket keeper (screening answering machine). And no they didn't leave a message - what a shock!

Thanks for heads up I just received a call from this number due to using caller id and I don't answer numbers I am not familiar with and let these go to answer machine but no message was left

Keep calling in Victoria at 7pm weekdays or 2 pm Sundays - we use an answering machine with caller ID and never answer these people - suggest everyone in Australia gets an answering machine with caller ID an these people will be instantly out of business !!! (Parasites)
