They call me often, and all I can hear is call centre type noises, then they hang up

When I called it back the response was "Optus advises this mobile number has been disconnected" yes that's right MOBILE number therefore redirected.

Some sort of mental retard! Calls, groans when answered then hangs up. If I call the number Optus" "claims" the number is NOT connected??? Optus should get their act together! This happened on many Optus numbers!!!

"Australian Retirement Program". Questioned them closely regarding their affiliation, and established that they were a not for profit organisation, simply doing the world a service by making those whom they call aware of many under-utilised benefits available from the government for working families. They said that they don't call numbers that are on the donotcall register, which is weird, because a) as a not for profit they should be exempt, and b) my number is on it. Asked some very general questions about my circumstances, and wanted to know if a consultant could call me back. I declined, and asked to be removed from their database. I smell a rat, but couldn't nail it down. Also couldn't find their website.

Called 5 times within 2 hours then later same day then following day despite a message saying "this number is no longer active - please leave a message". No message ever left. At what point do these people give up?
