Have been ringing relentlessly for weeks, never leaving a voicemail. I see from this forum that it is potentially Google Maps validating my business details which could make sense as I have Google listings linked to this mobile. But the daily/weekly calls are ridiculous!

Caller: (02) 9566 6000 Very probably a Google Maps rep calling to verify or delete edits made by user suggestions.
However if so they really need to reduce the scam vibe that the call presents. I would suggest an email from a verified google address. Easy to confirm as opposed to an Indian accented caller randomly calling saying they are from Google. Surely Google realizes this will raise immediate suspicion as is obvious from the posts on this forum.
Better still let business owners delete the sometimes ridiculous user suggestions themselves.

Caller: (02) 9566 6000 I received an incoming call from this number. An Indian man identified him as a staff at Google Map and asking if the landline matches with my postal address given on Google Map. I said we are running multiple business and if the information you found on Google Map and that's the correct one then he hung up. I do not know if this is a scam call as I did not give any confidential information but the confirmation on the postal address. I think you can ask to identify what department of Google Map the person work for and the name of the caller as well. I hope the above helps.

I also got a similar call, but from a women trying to confirm website address against google listing. I told her I run a services company and don't give out the physical address. She said thankyou and hungup. Either a scam or a directory company, but it makes no sense to me either.

Indian lady asking me to verify our address; after she told me what our address was, I said that's correct, she then asked if it was open (which is weird) so I just hung up. Sounded like she wanted to get me to say the word yes - maybe to record my voice and sign me up for something?
