This is certainly Amex, but it is also the debt collection centre for David Jones store cards.

It is American Express or David Jones Store Card, chasing up payment. Rings several times a day, doesn't leave a message and it is more than five days until my bill is due! Very tempted to add their number to my blocked caller list.

I called Amex after reading these posts. The number is NOT an American Express number, nor is the 1 800 number they ask you to call back on.

Caller: “AMEX”

Phone rings multiple times per day. I pick, say hello and nothing until they hang up. When I let it ring, it rings out and never a message left.
A scam caller targeting something. I have blocked it, as I don’t believe this to be a way the real American Express service would be run.

Appears to genuinely be American Express chasing a missed payment.
However, they will call constantly (multiple times every hour) without leaving a message if they are unable to get an answer.
This constant calling goes well beyond what is reasonable for a debt collector to attempt contact and is well over the red line of harassment.

This is a legitimate American Express number however most of the commenters here have likely received calls from a scammer spoofing this legitimate AMEX phone number. Do not disclosure any personal information unless already expecting a call from American Express!

Idiots. Why don't they get found out? Should be a law against it.

Idiots trying to call my 4G dongle. Just be aware that there is nothing stopping the scammers from leaving a comment here that it is 'legit' AMEX number - they swear! - NO credit provider would do this, they are scammers. Reverse name is DAVID JONES AME (from revealname.com),DOES NOT mean legit, just name registered to number!

Legit call from AMEX Fraud detection team.
They detected suspicious activities on my card so calling to confirm - I tried to add my card to Apple Wallet multiple times yesterday but wasn't able to do so. They helped me resolve the issue on the call. Pretty helpful and friendly folks. They did ask for identification first, like the DOB and name of the main account owner.
