Caller: Some claiming they are from Telstra

Obvious scam call. Indian woman said there was a problem with my IP address and they were from Telstra. The second I told them I didn’t believe them, they hung up.

Caller: Telstra (Not!)

Typical call center background noise. Caller identified himself as being from Telstra. I just laughed and said, "You're not from Telstra. You know that and so do I. Please don't call me again." He replied, "Alright." I hung up.

When I answered there was a delay and then a male connected. There was a lot of call centre noise in the background. He said he was from "The Security Department" calling about your card. Because there was no bank identified and no type of card identified I knew it was a scam and hung up.

Caller: Nicole from the Australian National Broadband Network

Claiming to be Nicole from the Australian National Broadband Network. They have been trying to contact me and are going to disconnect my line and internet connection in the next 24 hours as NBN is now available in my area unless I talk to a technician.

This person called my son's phone. For some reason when they called, it caused the alarms on his phone to stop. The alarms relate to his diabetes. I am not sure why someone would wat to kill someone with their camming rubbish, however it would appear to be quite deliberate and if my son was to die, they should be jailed for multiple decades.

Nothing gets these scammers off the line faster than

"This call is being monitored by the Australian Federal Police."

Works EVERY time.

Foreigh gentleman purported to be from Visa and said that someone was transferring funds from my account to an overseas account.

I told him that was bullsh*t and that the phone call was being monitored by the Australian Federal Police.

He IMMEDIATELY terminated the call.
