Somehow they got my number. guy says he is from a c f. tries to get me to sign up to give money each month. but sounded like a professional fund raiser. I hung up on him.

It wasn't a scam. It was a charity calling to get me to participate in a fundraising event. Which I participated in last year, they were just trying to drum up more business.

It's a company that does marketing for charities. The call centre staff get paid $50.00 per person they sign up.

starting receiving calls from this number yesterday..once on landline and once on mobile...didnt leave msg on voicemail but i did block it from mobile/cell phone..and again today the3y called me..so I just picked up handset and hung up on them..this has got to STOP

Wow, I'm glad I found this. I was really creeped out at first but now I know other people have experienced the same. I'm still kinda creeped out though. Well, I guess I have a new number to block!

I had a missed call each da from this number, but when I call I get a recorded message saying the person on the extension is not available. Who is calling me?

I was just called as well, glad I found so much feedback on here, now know to get the number blocked.

Same thing - calls one or two times a day for the last couple of weeks. Answered today and got silence at other end before they hung up. Never leaves message.

This number has been calling me between 1 and 4 times a day for the last week and I always happen to be busy at those times. I'm thinking I may as well block it from what you guys have all said.

Annoying unwanted calls

I have received a missed call yesterday from this land line number and had been calling them back within tree hours but the other side appears to be on phone conversation all the time and their answering machine seams to be overloaded and does not take any more in. Weird .. They left their voice message on my mobile - quite strange one but with my name mentioned while.. What is a reason behind such a behavior? What they might be fishing for?

Decided to answer today and was greeted with enthusiastic thanks for my contribution to 'charities'. Stopped the woman mid sentence and asked who she represented. Today it was 'Mission Australia'. After some chatting she confirmed the number is from an outbound call centre; cannot call in; various charities are represented; there is acknowledgement the number is listed as a 'nuisance call'.

Bizarre .makes me wonder what is gained from calling people and then hanging up.Have blocked this number after reading your comments.Many thanks
