Caller: WESTPAC FRAUD CENTRE While I was sceptical at first, I did receive an SMS from WESTPAC only a little while before quoting the last 4 digits of my card number and this caller also left a message with correct details. I checked the WESTPAC web site for a real number and called them. The number is also on the back of my card. There were two fraud attempts on my card for low amounts and I confirmed with the WESTPAC fraud person that this number is one of many they use to call out so it is GENUINE. BUT TO BE SAFE ALWAYS CALL THEM AND I WILL ADMIT THEY WERE INSTANT IN STOPPING MY CARD AND ISSUING A NEW ONE.

Did you call them back to find out it is a Westpac Fraud line? I actually cancelled my card because of a scam by calling this number and they called me back. (because a number hung up just before you answered happens every day)

This number is in fact WESTPAC. I ordered my new card and had the scammed one cancelled. Don't assume because you werent missing any money that the call was a scam. Call was to warn you they stopped the scam so you will not see this reflected in your account. Call Westpac and check before reporting a very important number as SCAM!

missed a call from this number and they left a message saying Westpac Card Fraud but to call the number at the back of my card as suspected fraud on my card. When i looked the number up and found this page i was concerned it was a scam, but i phoned Westpac's customer number and they did confirm they had tried to reach me and had blocked my card. So the call i received from this number was in fact legit.

Said they were Westpac and that my VISA card had unusual activity. Gave me correct name and address info for my account and then asked for additional details to confirm it was me.
