It is a totally legitimate call. The phone call is for fundraising and the people being called have either donated before or expressed an interest in donating. It is not necessarily Amnesty International. Also charities are exempt from the "Do Not Call" register.

This is the second time this number rang, and immediately hung up. After ringing back i got the message about 'Thanking me for supporting a Charity'. Whats the con here? Are we been overcharged for the callback number??? Strange one.

There has to be a way to stop this number calling. I'll look into Amnesty Intl and see if it is their number as I've not put my name down for them at any stage.

My best guess is that it's a tele-marketing business that has been contracted to call you on behalf of another company (which could have legitimate purposes or scam intentions).
I got a missed call, when I called number back, the recorded msg said 'thankyou for your recent donation to a charity' ... which I had actually done within the last month.

They have been calling several times a day for the past few days. I can't take it any more. I don't answer hoping they'll give up but they keep calling.

Has any one worked out how to stop the calls?

I have been receiving at least 2 calls per day at the same times each day for the last 8 weeks. I am on the Do Not Call Register too. I never answer these calls as I don't know the number. I have called it back once and it was a charity thanking me for my previous support and would contact me again to ask for my support.

Just received this call tonight. No answer. We're on the do not call register so why do they call?! Stop calling.

I am also receiving calls from this number and when I don't answer, they don't leave a message. Or they send me a text saying I've missed a call from them when I check my call log, they haven't phoned. Thanks for this site - it's been useful. I certainly won't answer or call back.

Several calls - when I do answer line is silent so I hang up - if I don't answer they leave no message.

I am getting about 3 calls per day.
I called them back yesterday and there was an automated message saying " You have been called by a charity wanting to say thank you"....its a total scam and I dont know how to stop it.

I have had at least 15 calls from this number in the last week... who is this?!

I am also getting multiple calls a day and its driving me insane.
I live in perth as well, so they are waking me up at early hours in the morning due to time difference.
It puts you off donating to charities if they're going to call you 4 times a day, really sick of it.

I also keep getting calls and there's no reply when I answer. If enough people call the police, they have to investigate. If you want to, call your local precinct
