I've been called by this No. a number of times & had similar experiences to the ones above. If you are with Telstra you can ring 1800 805 996 & they will block overseas nuisance calls from your phone.

This number calls me weekly. A message has been left on my answering machine by a male with an American accent telling me I have been accused of tax fraud. I answered the call personally last week after they told me the police were on the way to arrest me for tax fraud. I knew something was up when they used the word 'attorney'. I rang the ATO. They said it's a scam. The American caller was very aggressive over the phone and unsettled me.

Answered call but just silence so I hang up. I've a whistle that they'll get in their ear next time

Asked if company is called *****, asked for a person with a partial correct name but wrong title.
Refused to give information about themselves.
Rang them back to find out who they were, got a fax signal.
Another number added to our blocked list!

I get the same call every week , I pick up the phone and they hang up , also I get another one with an Asian accent , she calls a lot so I don't let her talk and hang up or tell her to duck my sick or ask for other special favors.

we are getting the same calls in Melbourne. I just tested the number on the Truecaller App and it results as 'not a valid number'. thank you Skype BAAAAAAH!!

Called back and got a fax or modem signal .... would suggest a scam

Anything starting (02) 8999 xxxx is sure to be spam - don't answer!!

Daily call near 1pm and some night time calls too.
There is just silence on the line if you make the mistake of answering.

Simple answer, buy a phone with call blocking and just enter in the number.

Suggest you check if your home phone will block calls. my cheap Panasonic does, check the instruction book or try the call register menu. Have not had the phone ring from these people although they phoned 6 times yesterday - all they get is an engaged tone. Their phone bill will go up at no expense to you!

I have had problems for about 6 weeks. They call 3 - 4 times a day OR night on my business mobile number. GRRRRR. Sometimes it just says GOODBYE after you have answered it. OR they ask to speak to a name that has no reference to my mobile number and want to chat about my energy bill. Then I say stop calling me... each day and tell them that they are contacting the wrong person.... so every day they hang up on me and ring again and again. SO I HAVE DONE THE FOLLOWING. Contacted Telstra nuisance calls. Created a mobile investigation with Telstra that lasts 30 days FREE OF CHARGE place a trace on (02) 8999 0931 and then if they keep calling me they will be issued a WARNING NOTICE from Telstra. So yes I would advise you all do the same with your telephone billing contractor.

What exactly is the point of this? This number calls regularly and hangs up when you have finished saying hello...has rung probably 10 times over the last 6 weeks but never said anything. What a waste of time, get a real job!
