Also said he was from Sydney but with the delay and echo and background noise, it sounded like an overseas call centre

50% off tablet scam, they say you won stuff, say you will get ipad 50% off, then they ask for bank details etc etc, but you will never receive it.

if you can keep them on the line longer, they bug less people and will try to avoid calling you. worked in a shady call centre like this one before, they buy numbers in bulk (get this from signups in websites or offers etc or they just straight u hack it) and try to cold call from there.

Yeah you know what you should do. Ask them for there name for example, Hello my name is James. Tell them instead of them scamming you say something along the lines of congratulations james and try to get there last name so James bla bla blah you have inhereted 9 million dollars in cash. Can I please wire the money into your bank details and even better send them an email if they have one. I do that all the time to the crooks. SCAM THE SCAMERS LOL LOL LOL :))))))))))))))))

Yep a scam - they also used to regularly phone my broadband modem. When I dialled back from a safe phone I actually got a recorded message about a resort deal.

Call asking for a "David Espinoza" about an android tablet that had been ordered. When I told them they had the wrong number, they assured me they had the right number but the wrong person. When I told them they 100% had the wrong number, they told me there was a $500 cancellation fee. At this point I laughed and hung up.
