I got a call from this number a few days ago. The man said he was from the Commonwealth Bank and asked for my full name including middle name and date of birth. When I declined to provide these details, he said he couldn't proceed further and hung up.

I keep getting missed calls from this number on my mobile, with no messages left. What I don't get is why they only let it ring for about half a second before hanging up. One time I answered it and it was (supposedly) someone from the CBA who asked to confirm my identity. I said, "You're the one who called me, you should know who I am." and she hung up. Definitely seems like one of those phishing calls IMHO.

Got a call from this number wanting to offer me a deal from CBA, I declined to provide my DOB, and they ended the call.

It is the CBA. Sales call wanting to increase credit card limit, sell me a new card or insurance. I wasn't interested but she did give me a reversal of 3 months account fees and removed me from paying any further account fees. They asked for my middle name and birth date (just day and month, not year). I was skeptical but it turned out to be legit.

Found it weird to be asking me to prove who I am if they've called me. Young lady wanted name, birthdate, address. Said she had "special offers" but wouldn't give any info.

Thought this was a scam but went into my local branch to check and they jut swiped my card and said "yes, commonwealth bank called you today". It was legit. Annoying and concerning, but legit. They are just trying to sell their products like everyone else.

I have received calls from this number over two consecutive days from Commonwealth Bank. The callers were real from CBA because I got some refunds on one of my account fee. But just wondering why they called me the very next day, by a different caller. Perhaps, the first caller didn't finish the bank's job to give me a credit card as he started to explain CBA's promotion and special offer for me but then he was kind of more involved to fix some of the issues with my bank accounts.

Anyway, this is a legal number of CBA

I used to work for CBA and it's not unusual to ask for an acct password as it's for ID to your profile only. However, I too am sceptical about this and advised to send me a letter if there's something wrong. I know all of my accounts are in order and, if not a scam, it's likely to be about getting credit card insurance.

I called the Commonwealth Bank and was informed that there had been no activity on my account that day. This was obviously a hoax.
I was instructed by the bank not to give any if my details should this number call again.

The lady said she was from commmonwealth bank and said that she needed to talk about my accounts. She asked for my password. Of course, I did not give it to her and hang up.
