My 86 y/o Mother got called today (James Appleton) but lucky I answered as she would have believed it and been quite distressed.

I got the same message today in a thick Phillipino accent. What a joke but I imagine some people might get sucked in by these turkeys.

Message left on message bank asking me to call asap as legal action is being filed against me (or my partner, not sure which one of us) for tax evasion. Hahaha What a joke.

Tax scam. Caller makes claims of a complaint being lodged of a an outstanding tax debt. This number needs to be investigated and the caller charged.

Yeah, "James Appleton from the Tax Office" called me this morning - sounded like a Filipino and it was a recording!

Just returned a call from a caller from this number as being from the Australian Taxation office threatening legal action. This number is a FRAUD!
