Guy said he was from ATO, when I called back line was disconnected. he called from (02) 8821 8903

the guy called from (02) 8821 8903 asking for my name then said he was from ATO, I called back number to check if legit and it said disconnected number, is this a scam?

This's the ATO %100, I have called the ATO main number and they said if you want us to call you back record your voice and say your name, and they called me back using this number and playing my voice that I recorded :)

Call received today. Lady said she was from the ATO. We couldn't continue the call as we were heading out to an appointment. When we rang back it was disconnected. Have rung the ATO today and they have no record of them contacting us today. They are going to put it up on their FB page as an alert. BE CAREFUL of this number. It's NOT an ATO number.

Seemed legit to me - just telling me that in future I should submit my share franking credits claim online instead of paper.

Just got a call saying he was from ATO . Knew about my business stuff. Have asked for him to email me the info he required and he said he couldnt but would call me at a more convenient time.

It seems to be scam ! The guy calling people & says that he is calling from ATO & ask them personal details ! If they refuse or could not be able to answer, will give an ATO switchboard number which is normally 1300 661 508
