it is scam call , they somehow knew our names , I am thinking my info has been leaked somewhere. They just want us feel nervous and later on get further more information abt us I guess. Just ignore the call and block it.

I just got a phone call from this number and told me that I have been registered as the emergency contact, and told me the name that register under this number will be cancelled in 2 hours. So I told her to cancel immediately and hang up.
I think it's a scam call

Scam, I have received a few similar targeting Chinese speakers. The ascent indicates more south East Asian area Chinese speaker. Sometimes the caller would repeatedly call to pester. I find it effective to state that I don’t speak Chinese.

I just received the same call exactly like you said. However, he thought my number was for my mum. I didn't say he's calling the wrong number. This really worries me as the only document which has ever used my mobile as my mum's mobile is on TPG website when applying for an AUS sim.

Asked my name in Chinese ( Correct name), asking if I am the right person. I said no you got the wrong number and hang up. Clearly a scam call and targeting the Chinese community.

OMG. I just hang up one from the same number. I regret even having a conversation with this guy. I do not know where they got my number from, but the guy was asking me about a tourist (relative) who visited long time ago. I said, there is no way to contact that person, because he is not a resident. If they could, they should shut the number down. I heard a "do" sound at the beginning of the call, I swear they record our voices! God knows what they use our voices for???
PLEASE DO NOT SPEAK AND JUST HANG UP!

Hi All,
This is our business number. We would never randomly call you. You would be dealing with us already before you ever received a call from this number.
Seems that someone has been spoof calling using our number.
We have sent complaints to the proper channels.
Again, we would never randomly call you.

Firstly, I'm not even a Vodafone customer; secondly, I have no interest in politics, and the number he mentioned is not one that I own. I don't think this is a scam call as he did not ask for my ID or any other personal information. He even knew my name and actual phone number from the very start. He insisted that I knew about those illegal texts and refused to end the call, pressing me to resolve the issue or face the consequences. His tone was somewhat threatening, just trying to coerce me into cancelling a number that I don't own. It's been a strange incident, to say the least.
