Got a miscall from this number, they left a voice message in some language... tried to call back, couldn't connect. Definitely scam.

Caller: Patrick Man called saying his name is Patrick and asked if I’m the main internet user. He then said ‘ok darling well your internet is compromised so we need to fix it’. This male sounded Aussie. My iPhone told me the call was Sydney based. Such a waste of time. Not sure how they got my number but these people should be stopped.

Caller: "Patrick from Telstra" "Patrick from Telstra" called today (5/4/24) at 14:01 from this number. In flawless Australian-accented English today, he recited a variant of my name, said he was from Telstra, and was concerned my server had been compromised. I told him I was pretty sure this was a scam call, and that he needed another job - an honest one. He mumbled something quickly (which stays with him, I'm afraid) and hung up.

Caller: The person said they were Optus and were sorting out something to do with internet accounts and public ip addresses. I refused to do anything until I verified the call was really from Optus. They gave an employee ID number but I was still suspicious that he intended to hack my account. Since the Optus data hack, it’s hard to check if a caller is a scammer.

I picked up a call on my mobile from this number. I said hello - no reply. I said it again - they took a few seconds to say anything - I put my speaker on and phone on mute - Indian female voice said they are calling from Visa card Mastercard - asked me if I authorised a Bitcoin transaction for $900. I said nothing. After 20 seconds they said hello again - they terminated the call. I blocked their number.
