My husband was recently sent a publication from this company with an advertisement in it for our business. We had never heard of them before this and the accompanying 'invoice' for $434.50 was highly misleading. In the fine print, under the methods of payment (which were in bold large print) stated that payment served as acceptance of the offer and that the piece of paper (printed to look like a standard invoice) was not in fact a tax invoice but that one could be sent on request. This is a scam, do not make any payment and DO report the information to this website www.qld.au/law/fair-trading This type of thing can be searched for on www.scamwatch.gov.au if it has been reported and on investigation turns out to be a scam.

This group called rescue community services is operating the same community accident /rescue news publication scam

the entity where payment goes states
Clilinger Family Trust
operating out of
17/113 johnston street
Annandale

they do not answer only voicemails you can leave with no replys

the questions on price if publication when issued circulation size and locations go unanswered.

And like others the calls come shortly after a valid organisation has contacted you. Yes black and white print of adds

They charged same price as valid publications and use same process for validation

but no abn or website

I have passed details to police and hope others dont also get bitten

Calls requesting money for the Accident Volunteer & Rescue News and Children Safety Review are a scam. They will make it sound like it is a donation however it is not. No publication will ever be seen. Based out of 17/113 Johnston Street Annandale NSW 2038 (according to their paperwork). Both services (and more I am sure) are run by Cyberwatch Security Pty Ltd ATF The Clilinger Trust. Please beware and rather make donations to legitimate charities.

Action For Youth and Lookout Community In Focus are also scams, they ring you asking for payment at discounted rate of a generic sounding charity then send fake magazine, a person (usually woman) pretending to be a teacher in a marketing class rings saying they have a copy of the magazine and asks if you have more copies. Don't suppose anyone got their money back from them?

They also operate using the name "Children Safety Review" for advertising at $434.50. When you look up the ABN it is registered to Clilinger Family Trust. New address is PO Box 458 Leichardt NSW 2040 and phone number (02) 8355 7320.

I too paid the Clilinger Family Trust, and I too did my research. Although I was unhappy with what I received for my money this does not make them a scam.
I think I will just do my research before paying any money for advertising.
If I had taken the time to read all the fine print I would have been wiser and not parted with my money.
