We've had lots of calls about the "accident" we had in the last two years, except we didn't have any such accident. It might have been coincidence they called a person who had actually had an accident therefore thought it might be bona fide.

Got this call today. Missed call and searched and found this scam listing. Only thing I've done recently that is related to car insurance/accidents is gotten a quote from Allianz online. Anyone else have this in common? Seems like they may not be too careful who they share private data with.

I had some guy call asking for me with my full name-don't know where he got my details from asking about car accident I was involved in...
Told him I've had a few people call me re this and its a scam-don't call me again.
Guy told me he would ensure no one called me again about this-let's see as I'm fed up with these calls

I've had calls from these people a few times. Today all I got was goodbye and they hung up. But I've had them tell me I've been in a car accident in the past 12 months..... Pretty sure I'd know if that had happened. They have another number as well. I blocked it months ago, and now I'm blocking this 1.

I had someone from this number phone me today asking if I had been involved in a motor vehicle accident in the last 12 months. I said NO and the guy hung up. I immediately tried phoning the number and got a message saying Optus regrets that this number is disconnected.
Can Optus please explain how scammers phone and this number shows up when they phone someone?
