My elderly mother received 3 such calls this morning from ATO-must be a scam

Message claimed they were CDPP, Canberra Dept. Public Prosecutions. Not the first time received recorded message declaring tax evasion and tax avoidance .

Definitely HOAX. I just checked the Commonwealth Department of Public Prosecutions (who they claim to be) website and has been going around since March 2015

We had a message left on our phone. He spoke very well, used all the right language, but:
A lot of static on the line
ATO don't phone people;
We know our tax affairs are in order!
Definitely scam

Left a message on my elderly fathers phone claiming to be from the ATO and was calling about a tax evasion matter. SCAM for sure.
